PitchNOLA 2015: Living Well

PitchNOLA: Living Well is Propeller’s social innovation competition focused on addressing health issues and promoting healthy living in New Orleans. Sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, this competition offers $10,000 in total start-up funding for solutions that will get New Orleanians healthier, more active and better nourished. When faced with the numbers, Louisiana is among the worst in the nation when it comes to obesity, infant mortality, HIV and the number of uninsured. Let’s change this.

PitchNOLA 2015: Community Solutions

Propeller and Tulane team up to offer PitchNOLA: Community Solutions, a live business pitch competition that asks New Orleanians to tell us how they plan to drive progress in their community. We encourage the community to pitch us any idea that offers support to workforce development, children and families, social justice, and the environment.

PitchNOLA 2014: Lots of Progress

PitchNOLA 2014: Lots of Progress is a live pitch competition designed to generate community interest in the activation of vacant NORA-owned lots. The competition features $7,500 in total cash prizes, technical assistance from Propeller, and the opportunity to lease and/or purchase one or more properties from a list of fifteen vacant, non-residential lots. The competition is sponsored by Entergy.

Deadline to Apply (RFP): Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 4:00pm (CST)
Competition Date: Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Doors open at 6:00pm, event begins at 7:00pm, Propeller Incubator, 4035 Washington Ave.

Do you dream of owning your own fruit orchard, performance space, art installation, green house, dog park, outdoor gym, outdoor science lab, goat farm, herb garden, or something else awesome?

PitchNOLA: Lots of Progress focuses on transforming blighted and vacant properties into projects for community benefit. In partnership with the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, this competition offers the opportunity to choose a vacant lot, win it for free or at a reduced cost, and receive cash prizes to make your idea a reality! $10,000 in cash prizes.
