Join the ReFOCUS and Propeller Incubator community as we support the MyNew Orleans Photo Project.
All spring and summer, ReFOCUS, the organization that runs the MyNew Orleans Photo Project, has been hard at work distributing single-use cameras to people affected by homelessness and encouraging them to capture their perspectives of the Big Easy. After developing the film and putting the photos in front of a panel of judges, the MyNew Orleans Photo Project is now raising funds to help put on an exhibition of the photos from all the participants, so that the public can experience the photos and the participants can see their art hung in a public space. At the same time we’ll be marking World Homeless Day and raising awareness of the issues around homelessness. The MyNew Orleans Photo Project exhibit and calendar are a showcase of the resilience of the human spirit as well as the beauty of New Orleans.
10% of Wayward Owl beer sales from 5-8 pm will go to ReFOCUS to support the Photo Project, which provides an important opportunity for self-expression for people affected by homelessness.
