Please join the Greater New Orleans Water Collaborative and Propeller on April 11th, between 5:00 – 8:00 PM, for a moderated discussion and citizen workshop on opportunities for amending New Orleans’s 30-year Master Plan. Learn how the Master Plan guides city decisions about land use, parks, and infrastructure and how it can enable long term investment in stormwater management and flood protection throughout the city.

Beginning April 11th through June 30th, the City Planning Commission will be accepting public comments and recommendations for amendments to the Master Plan. Upon deliberating this input, the Planning Commission and City Council will in turn vote upon specific proposed amendments in the Spring of 2017.

The workshop will include a moderated discussion from 5:30 – 6:30PM on the role and importance of the Master Plan, current provisions related to water management, and opportunities for increased safeguards. Following this discussion, the Water Collaborative will facilitate training on the rules of the official comment process and will take questions from attendees on amendment proposals.
