WWL-TV: Nonprofits collaborative gets $1M boost from JP Morgan Chase

June 24, 2025

NEW ORLEANS — A group of nonprofits built to support and grow small businesses received a financial boost for their efforts.

This week JP Morgan Chase delivered a $1 million grant to the Financial Wellness Collaborative, featuring Propeller, Thrive New Orleans, and Fund 17.

The group bridges the gap for small entrepreneurs who are looking to seek capital, improve their credit, and gain the financial knowledge needed to run a business.

“We’re able to sit down with entrepreneurs and help them diagnose what’s been a hurdle for them in the past,” said  Jessica Allen, CEO of Propeller.

Since 2022, the collaborative has offered coaching, workshops, networking and more.

“Whether it’s helping them with their credit, getting their financials ready, or even helping make key introductions to loan officers, we know those are all things that help people get over the finish line and accessing the loans they need.”

The collaborative has supported almost 400 entrepreneurs. This is the largest grant the group has received.
