PitchNOLA: Education Challenge

The Education Challenge presented by Capital One is the second pitch competition in Propeller’s three-part PitchNOLA series. Each competition in the series focuses on a key system, challenging the entrepreneurs and audience to imagine a more equitable future for our city.

The Education Challenge presented by Capital One will award $10,000 in total prizes for entrepreneurs ensuring every New Orleanian has equitable access an excellent education and fulfilling career path.

PitchNOLA and its winners have received notable attention from publications including the Washington Post, The Guardian, the Times Picayune, The Advocate, New Orleans City Business, WWNO, and WWLTV.

Eligibility

All Competitions

  • Business structure: Entrepreneurs operating nonprofit and for-profit ventures are welcome to apply. Nonprofits must demonstrate earned revenue.
  • Focus area: Venture aligns with competition focus area. See below for detail.

  • K-12 outcomes
  • Young adults (16-24) disconnected from work or school

Audience Participation

Audience members play a key role at each PitchNOLA competition. RSVP here to join us!

The suggested $5 donation goes towards funding our Audience Favorite Award. Votes are cast by a text-in vote at the competition on Wednesday, April 17th.

We also encourage audience members to bring relevant contacts, resources, or constructive feedback to help the entrepreneurs in pursuing their ideas. Feedback cards will be provided at the competition.
