You’ll need to know some payroll basics before you do and there have been some recent updates to policies. Lynn McLean, founder of Small Business Resources Group, will be presenting in an informal but informational lunch & learn!
The afternoon session will cover:
- Proper paperwork for new hires—what needs to be completed, when it needs to be done and how. Consequences of incorrect handling of this process (there are now possible fines).
- How to handle new hire reporting with the state.
- How to set up payroll and report it correctly.
- The difference between a real employee (W2) and an independent contractor (1099).
