Details

Evacuteer is a community-focused non-profit. Annually, Evacuteer recruits, trains, and manages 500 active citizen volunteers who provide vital assistance in the event of a mandatory evacuation to more than 35,000 of our fellow New Orleans residents without the means to self-evacuate.

Evacuteers are part of a reserve volunteer corps of neighbours helping neighbours. Each year for hurricane season, we work to empower the community to train with us so that if we are activated, our volunteers are ready to help people register at their local Evacuspots and at the bus station for processing.
We volunteer at the 17 neighbourhood pick-up points (Evacuspots), the Union Passenger Terminal in the CBD, and the 311 Call Center in City Hall.
